Reeds

I’ve not been out for a morning walk since Tilly died. I tried going by myself, but it’s not the same without a dog, and it only served to remind me of her absence. Today, however, the light was so beautiful that I just had to take my camera and go outside. There was a very thin layer of ice on the lake, and the reeds seemed to be dancing in the morning sunlight.

I tried hard to think what these reflections reminded me of – and have just realised – they look like crimped hair when it has just been released from a plait.
